You made it to the top, goggles on, poles ready, poised for your first run of the day.
You are resplendent in your Lauren RLX parka, (www.polo.com) designed by Ralph Lauren especially for the ski instructors at Aspen. Later, inside the lodge, you’ll throw on your brightly colored form-fitting “Linda” fleece pullover from Gorsuch (www.gorsuchltd.com). For dinner, you’ll wear a simple white tuxedo blouse from Bogner. (www.bognerhomeshopping.com). Leave the ski sweaters home. Fleece and exotic synthetic blends are the new wools. Real fur is flying everywhere. To ward off the chill, you’ll wear the long black Nils “Holly” belted parka with the coyote fur hood from Outriggers (908-238-0110) in Clinton. We also loved the cherry red Nils “Ally” Parka with double side buckles and a black fur trim collar at the Princeton Ski Shop (www.princetonoutdoor.com) in Clifton. But the break-out fashions, as always, belong to the snowboarders. Burton, Volcom and Roxy, (www.dogfunk.com) are among the top designers of parkas, tees, and pants that keep you so stylishly warm and dry in all that powder. The beauty of it is these clothes travel everywhere. You can schuss down the produce aisle at Kings with authority in your python-print Metropolis jacket, or wear the DNA green plaid ?punk jacket? over a skirt and furry boots to catch a real mogul. You won’t need your handbag. There are zippered pockets to hold everything: your Ipod, tissues, ATM card, goggles. The avalanche rescue tags on your sleeve give you a stamp of authenticity. Don’t ski or shred the park? No matter. You look the part, and who?s to say you didn’t spend last weekend in Aspen? Tomorrow: Great ideas for your weekend. |
