Got a yen for spotted dick? A soft spot for mushy peas? A craving for clotted cream?

Indulge your favorite British food fantasies at the London Food Company (www.londonfoodco.com) in Montclair.

Take a break from Chai and brew some classic English Tea. You can sample all kinds in this Bloomfield Avenue store. Pick up some Jammie Dodgers or McVitie’s to go with it.

The London Food Company is a charming hodgepodge of deli, gourmet shop, and bodega for British food aficionados.

The Brits are big on breakfast; you’ll find plenty of porridge, HP Sauce, and baked beans to go with your eggs, bacon, black pudding and biscuits.

Owner Samatha Codling -- born and raised in England -- created the London Food Company simply because she missed the dishes she grew up with.

Want to bring Samatha’s home cooking with you? Take one of her special meat pies to-go. Or, you can have a real high tea in your dining room and let Samatha cater it; She’ll bring the scones, sandwiches, cakes. You bring the guests and conversation.

So take a break from your low-fat no-salt routine and enjoy your little trip across the pond. Here’s to boiled, fried, and mashed meat and potatoes! Wash it down with a spot of tea, or something even stronger. It may be the original comfort food.

Cheers!

Tomorrow, our take on those new invisible bras.
