Image Getting a Valentine’s Day gift for the guy in your life is always a little bit tricky.

Our advice: keep it unpredictable, tap into his creative side, make sure he has the best toys.

Is he a secret Starr? Jersey drummer Charlie Mills, formerly with Dee Snyder and Skid Row, is now giving lessons -- your guy will learn to keep rhythm and no doubt hear some great stories from Charlie’s road trips. (www.cmillsdrums.com).

Is there a Tiger in his tank? Treat him to a series of private golf lessons with esteemed pro turned coach Ozzie Carlson -- he’ll be swinging and driving into the nets in Ozzie’s Bergen County backyard. Does he like the BIG picture? Give him some nifty Icuiti glasses ($249.95) that will let him transform his little DVD player into a portable home theatre (www.icuiti.com).

Does he need his back rubbed? There are three “Man-ly Spa Packages” -- one includes a back “facial,” another a mud wrap -- to choose from at www.spanewjersey.com.

Is he a man of letters? Give him Richard Ford’s The Lay Of The Land (www.barnesandnoble.com), the third Ford novel about Frank Bascombe, the Leopold Bloom of Jersey Shore realtors.

Is he a man of the cloth? Try a multi-functional, multi-pocket work vest ($49.50) made from old-time fire hose material. (www.duluthtradingcompany.com).

Is he the man of your dreams ? Hire a personal chef (www.hireachef.com) to make a gourmet Valentines’ dinner, and suggest watching one of the following rented DVDs: Gettysburg, Troy, or Godfather I, II, or III. Fight fatigue. Hint: refrain from asking questions that require detailed answers about characters or motivations.

Tomorrow: we’ll tell you where to find that great bottle of wine, for your Valentine, or anytime.
